Navarre Fishing Report – September 2018
Thanks for stopping by and checking out the Navarre Fishing Report – September 2018! Redfishing has been great the month of September! Schools of redfish are roaming the flats following mullet and the bigger bull reds have showed as well In the shallow water! The redfish can be caught using live bait, dead bait on bottom, or artificial lures.
Top water skitter walks are the top choice for early morning and late afternoon this time of year. With a top water you can cover a lot of ground and locate schools of redfish. Once you locate the schools you can throw any soft plastics or bait that you choose and get plenty of bites! My favorite part of throwing top water lures is the explosive bites you get to encounter from a wide variety of species!
Fall Bull Redfish – Navarre Fishing Report
We are starting to see a few schools of bull reds show up! As the month gets later and into October the schools of bull reds should start to really get good! The first week of September we had a fun time with a few schools of big redfish that showed up in Santa Rosa Sound, the fish have been mixed in with BIG jacks and a few sharks and made for some really fun charters! Can’t wait to see what the rest of the month and October have in store for more big redfish!!
Speckled Trout and Flounder – Navarre Fishing Report
Speckled Trout and Flouder are starting to make a daily showing on all the local charter boats and guides. With the cooling water both species should continue to get better and better. If you want to catch flounder live mullet or bull minnows on the bottom near grass and sand edges or bounce soft plastic jigs around bridges and you should dinner good to go! The Speckled Trout can be found in the grass beds of Santa Rosa Sound in 5-10 foot of water with live shrimp, croakers, or mullet on the bottom or deep diving plugs and soft plastics work well also.
